Daphne joined Hillbrook in August 2016 as an Office Manager. She started her career in 2011 at one of the world's largest publishers of monthly magazines, Hearst Magazines. She started as a marketing executive for FiscAlert, a Dutch magazine about investing, taxes and personal finances. After 1 year she started combining this role with working on the database department, providing advice and analyses to marketing. After that she worked as a marketing executive for Esquire magazine and Men’s Health. In this job she was responsible for several projects about digitization and event organization.
Daphne graduated with a bachelor degree in Communication and a master degree in Corporate Communication, both from the University of Amsterdam.
Gwen joined Hillbrook as of September 2016 as an Immigration Director. Gwen has 19 years of experience in Dutch Immigration compliance. Before joining Hillbrook she was heading the immigration team of Deloitte in the Netherlands. Before Deloitte she was manager within the immigration department of PwC. Gwen has successfully managed global tax and immigration client accounts in a number of industries, including engineering, retail and IT. She has extensive consulting experience in establishing immigration processes and finding solutions for complex immigration situations. Next to her in-depth immigration knowledge, Gwen also has knowledge of the Dutch tax and social security system.
Gwen is a regular contributor to Dutch immigration policy forums and has published several news articles. She has given multiple workshops on Dutch immigration. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Management Economics and Law.
Wendy joined Hillbrook in September 2016 as a Tax Compliance Manager. Wendy has 8 years of experience working at the Expat Management department of Deloitte. At Hillbrook she focusses on tax compliance for foreign local hires and international assignees. Wendy studied Business Economics in Alkmaar.
Miranda has almost 9 years of experience working at PwC and joined Hillbrook in 2015. Her main focus is tax compliance for international mobile employees and foreign local hires and she is responsible for numerous clients engagements. From the year 2008 until 2011 she was the day to day contact for the expatriates and local cross border commuters of the Philips account within PwC.
Miranda has followed the Management, Economic and Law study in Utrecht.
Jeppe started his career at the International assignments group of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 2010. As a tax advisor he specialized in international tax and social security issues. Before joining Hillbrook in August 2014 as a tax accountant, he worked at Cramer Accountants as an assistant accountant for almost a year. During this period he gained valuable experience in accountancy for sole proprietorships, partnerships and private limited companies. Furthermore he was involved in tax advice for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Jeppe graduated with a master degree in Fiscal Economics from the University of Amsterdam in 2011. Due to his study and working experience he has specialized in accountancy, financial reporting and tax law.
Marnix joined Hillbrook in January 2015 as Tax Consultant. Previously Marnix worked for Arthur Andersen and Deloitte’s International Assignment Services. Prior to joining Hillbrook, Marnix worked for a small tax firm servicing, besides expats, major shareholders (DGA) and directors on all tax related matters such as income tax, corporate income tax and VAT.
Marnix studied Fiscal – Economics at the Hogeschool voor Economische Studies (HES) in Amsterdam.
Jeffery joined Hillbrook in June 2012 as Tax Accountant. He started his career in the tax department of PricewaterhouseCoopers Curaҫao in 1995. After 4 years Jeffery moved to the Netherlands where he worked for several tax consultancy firms.
Jeffery specializes in the compliance of corporate and value added tax. He also has a solid background in financial reporting and accounting. Jeffery has a Bachelor degree in business administration with a specialization in Tax and Economics from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
René joined Hillbrook in October 2013 as Manager of Payroll Services to further develop and grow the international payroll practice. Previously he worked for almost 14 years at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte in the international payroll department where he became a specialist in expat payrolls, executive payrolls, shadow payrolls and salary split payrolls.
René studied Business Economics at the Hogeschool voor Economische Studies (HES) in Amsterdam. After his study he briefly worked as Assistant Business Controller at Sony Europe B.V.
Ivo has worked for Hillbrook since November 2010 and has been part of Hillbrook’s rapid expansion in recent years. Prior to joining Hillbrook, Ivo worked in the international payroll department of Arthur Andersen and Deloitte for over 10 years after graduating from the MEAO (Education on Economics and Administration) in Alkmaar.
He has been intrinsically involved with selecting, testing and the implementation of state of the art on-line salary systems and international payroll solutions. Ivo also teaches at the Expatise Acadamy on the subject of expat payroll administration.
Henk is a founding member and Partner of Hillbrook. In 2009, he branched out on his own after spending over 15 years with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. As a Senior Director in Deloitte’s International Assignment Services department, he was responsible for major client engagements and providing specialist expatriate tax and HR consultancy services. Henk was a teacher of cross border employment for 4 years at the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB). In 2013, he became a teacher again at the Expatise Academy, teaching global mobility (GM) professionals on the 30%-ruling. Further, Henk is very much engaged in the GM industry in the Netherlands and is the Chapter Leader of the Forum for Expatriate Management (FEM) in the Netherlands. In this capacity Henk organizes quarterly FEM seminars for GM professionals on different trending topics such as immigration, talent management, international employment law, policy benchmarking, 30%-ruling and other GM topics.
His area of expertise is expatriate tax compliance and consultancy. Henk has written a booklet on the 30%-ruling and numerous published articles on cross-border employment. As from 2004, he has been an author for the monthly payroll magazine ‘Praktijkblad voor de Salarisadministratie’.
Erik is a Partner of Hillbrook and one of the firm's founders. He started his tax career with Price Waterhouse before leaving to set up his own tax advisory business. Erik’s former Price Waterhouse colleague Henk Amorison joined in 2010 and together they formed Hillbrook Expatriate Tax Solutions in May of that year.
Erik specializes in start-up and growing businesses including sole proprietorships, partnerships and private limited companies. He has been assisting entrepreneurs for many years on a wide range of Dutch tax and compliance matters, including those with cross border activities. Erik also has a wealth of experience in the tax and financial aspects of divorce, in addition to the handling of tax compliance aspects of Dutch State Monuments. Erik graduated in Tax Law from Amsterdam University in 1987.
Lyke is a Tax Lawyer and Partner of Hillbrook and has over 16 years’ experience in the field of expatriate tax, international mobility and assignment management. Before joining Hillbrook in December 2013, Lyke worked for almost 2 years with Boxx, an expatriate consultancy firm in Belgium. Prior to that, she worked for more than 13 years in the International Assignments group of PricewaterhouseCoopers, managing several large client engagements and providing technical advice and guidance to HR, Tax and Finance professionals on all aspects of assignments including compensation, tax and HR issues. She was also responsible for the Sales & Business Development of the International Assignments group. Since 2012 Lyke has been a teacher at the Expatise Academy, teaching the subject ‘Understanding the system of international taxation and the avoidance of double taxation’.
Lyke’s area of expertise is in international tax and social security planning for expatriate individuals, but also has a broad knowledge of immigration/visa and experience with outsourcing projects. Lyke has a degree in both Civil Law and Tax Law.
